Courses

Academics

Cross-cultural communication, collaboration skills, and culturally appropriate workplace behavior are at the heart of this three-week hybrid study tour. The first week in a virtual classroom gives you a conceptual toolkit for analyzing and adapting to cultural differences. During these sessions, you identify your own cultural profiles, preferences, and biases, and work through role plays that have a focus on culturally appropriate professional behavior and idiomatic business English. In-person sessions continue after you arrive in Milan, using your site visits as case studies in the classroom.

Site Visits

Your time in Milan will be a two-week adventure of engaging discussions at a series of business visits, from small, local enterprises to major global corporations. During these visits, you will observe, analyze, and interpret, building your abilities to communicate in culturally effective ways.

Cultural Activities

You’ll continue to hone your intercultural communication skills through activities with local Italian and international students. IES Abroad Milan staff will also arrange cultural excursions to historical and cultural sites throughout the city.
