Studying abroad should be accessible to everyone. During our decades of arranging study abroad experiences, we've gathered experience and advice we can happily share.
Every person, program, and university is different, so give yourself plenty of time to identify the best way for you to fund your study abroad trip to make your dream a reality.
There are often both local and national funding initiatives as well as financing opportunities attached to universities or schools. Your first call should be to your on-campus study abroad office. The staff there will have abundant information on scholarships applicable to you—talk to them as soon as you decide you want to study abroad because funds are limited and application deadlines may close early.
Your SAF Student Counselor can also help you navigate funding opportunities, explain what's included in your program fee, and clarify the process of paying for your study abroad trip. With all this information to hand, you can start creating a budget and developing a plan for your study abroad funding.
