Join the UC Davis concurrent program and craft a for-credit academic schedule to suit your interests as you build on your language confidence and cultivate your academic acumen in an empowering environment at a top US public university.

You research, communicate, and improve your academic skills independently and with support, and face the intricacies of real-world challenges head on as you prepare for a successful future.

Courses

The concurrent program covers 1 advanced ESL course taught by the writing center and 12 to 13 undergraduate credits. Registration occurs before you arrive on campus.

Classroom Hours

The SAF program fee tuition rate is based on enrollment in 20 hours of language instruction per week. 

Course & Departmental Restrictions

Certain courses are extremely popular and may not be available

Special exams may be required for some courses and failing the exam would prevent enrollment. Space in any specific course is not guaranteed, even if you have strict requirements on courses necessary for graduating from your home university.

When applying to study abroad, you must meet the entry requirements set by the host university - and SAF is here to set you up for success.

The requirements outlined in this section include the language proficiency scores you may need to demonstrate your language skills, a guide to the GPA range and other academic prerequisites required by your host university, and a list of documentation and other application materials you will need to finalize your application. You may need to supply additional information throughout the process, and you will be alerted through your emails and SAF Student Portal if this is the case for you.

Homestay

During your time at the University of California, Davis, you become part of a local Californian family. Your homestay family shares two meals a day with you, and you share the living space, kitchen, and laundry facilities.

Students pay their homestay family directly. Therefore, the SAF Housing fee only includes the Application fee. Break stay is available upon request.
