Academics

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at UC Berkeley has been a driving force in technology innovation and entrepreneurship education since 2005. SCET is the university’s largest academic center for entrepreneurship, playing a pivotal role in the development of renowned programs and applying its innovative approach to teaching technology entrepreneurship.

The internationally recognized Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship (BMoE) empowers students, professionals, and executives to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, apply proven frameworks, and build global networks. During the program, you attend shared intensive lectures and collaborate with fulltime students on interactive game-based exercises. At every step of the way, you have exclusive SAF one-on-one mentoring from faculty and industry experts, so you can develop your own startup ideas with individualized attention as you work towards your own pitching event.

Courses

During the intensive course, you master essential skills—customer discovery, market analysis, product-market fit, business modeling, and storytelling—to accelerate your entrepreneurial journey through hands-on learning.

Academic coursework: This intense course introduces you to the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship (BMoE), a leader in training for global technology entrepreneurs. You dive into strategy, tactics, culture, and psychology under an entrepreneurial umbrella, gaining insights from real-life experiences and case studies.

Pitch your startup: With highly interactive one-to-one mentoring from faculty and industry experts, you develop your own startup ideas to share with your cohort at an exclusive pitching event. You also see the final pitches from the larger bootcamp.

Cultural activities: After an overview of the Berkeley campus, and its entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, your group takes BART to AutoDesk Gallery or Alchemist. You can then explore more of San Francisco, with recommendations from your local guides and SAF Staff.

Site visits: In week two, enjoy exclusive Bay Area company visits, exploring Berkeley’s innovation ecosystem, then venturing to Silicon Valley for PlugNPlay (meeting Korean startups), Computer History Museum, and Apple Visitors Center.
