Academics

University of California, Berkeley's Academic Approach
Participatating in this program means you are guaranteed business course enrollment and receive assistance with course selection and scheduling from a BHGAP advisor. You are considered a visiting scholar at the Haas Business School , integrated completely with other Berkeley students.
Courses
As a participant of this program, you are provided with a list of designated course offerings in which you will be required to enroll. The core curriculum emphasizes entrepreneurship, product launch, and transformative leadership in digital and global markets.
To earn either the BHGAP Certificate (one-semester program) or the BHGAP Diploma Certificate (two-semester program), you should complete the following:
BHGAP Certificate:
Enroll in at least 12 units in all courses taken at the University of California.
- complete a minimum of nine units of BHGAP Curriculum, including automatic enrollment in BHGAP Core Courses
- complete a minimum of one unit of concurrent enrollment
BHGAP Diploma:
- complete all requirements for the certificate (see above)
- in the second semester, be automatically enrolled in BHGAP core courses
- complete at least 18 units of BHGAP curriculum over the course of the program *courses will not be counted twice for credit
- complete a minimum of one unit through the concurrent enrollment system each semester enrolled in the program
- complete a minimum of 24 units of courses taken at the University of California, Berkeley
- complete the following requirements:
- successfully complete all course requirements with a grade of C or better
- earn a final program GPA of 2.5 or higher based on all courses taken
- *P/NP courses will not count towards your final GPA

Application Requirements
The requirements outlined in this section include the language proficiency scores you may need to demonstrate your language skills, a guide to the GPA range and other academic prerequisites required by your host university, and a list of documentation and other application materials you will need to finalize your application. You may need to supply additional information throughout the process, and you will be alerted through your emails and SAF Student Portal if this is the case for you.
Language Test Score Requirements
To prove your language proficiency, you can use any of the following:
- Cambridge: C1 Advanced
- DAAD: C1
- IELTS: 7.0
- TEM-4 or TEM-8: Level 70
- *TOEFL iBT: 90 *TOEFL Home Edition and MyBest score are accepted
- Duolingo: 115

Housing Information

Off-campus apartment
The SAF program fee covers a shared off-campus apartment. Alongside local students, you build a study abroad family in the communal living space and over meals you cook in your shared kitchen. The residence building may have a front desk and laundry.
