A private university, Teikyo University is headquartered in the Itabashi ward, Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1931 as Teikyo Commercial High School, it became Teikyo University in 1966. Starting with economics and liberal arts, Teikyo University has continued to develop as a comprehensive university, offering a wide range of additional programs. In the city of Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT) was founded in 1951. From its origins as a technical school IMUT continues to specialise in engineering studies. Currently offering academic pursuits well beyond the traditional technical studies the university has over 25,000 students enrolled.

Nara Women's University is a national women's university located in Nara, Japan. It is one of two of Japan’s national women's universities. The University was established in 1908 with the goal of training women, and later reorganized and renamed in 1949.
