China University of Petroleum (Beijing) is a "Double First-Class" university directly under the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 1953, covers an area of more than 700 mu, and has about 16,000 students and more than 1,700 faculty and staff. As a university under the "211 Project" and the "Double First-Class" construction, its petroleum and natural gas engineering discipline was rated A+ (the best in the country), and its chemical engineering and technology, as well as geological resources and geological engineering, are strong. It has a national key laboratory in the field of oil and gas exploration and development, and its scientific research results are widely used in the national energy strategy.
