Founded in 1919 by the renowned pianist Alfred Cortot, ENM is the private-school equivalent to the National Conservatory. Located in a stately mansion (designated a historical monument) in the 17th arrondissement, it's easy to attend cultural events around Paris to help you familiarize yourself with the city and its culture. Institut Catholique de Paris

The Institut Catholique de Paris was founded in 1875, under the name of the Université Catholique de Paris by Maurice Le Sage d'Hauteroche d'Hulst. The university offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in various faculties. The Faculté de Théologie is a pontifical institution with the canonical authorization to educate men for the Catholic priesthood. The Faculté de Lettres is a school of the humanities with no explicit religious orientation. During the summer, the Institut opens the Faculté de Lettres to international students for month-long terms.
Professors at the university are recruited from sacred (i.e., theology, canon law, etc.) and secular disciplines (e.g., literature, philosophy, education, social sciences, economics).

La Villa Bastille

La Villa Bastille is an art school (drawing and painting) where students have the opportunity to work freely and independently while benefiting from the instruction of an experienced artist. At La Villa Bastille, students can put into practice the principles needed to depict live models or can learn the different painting techniques (watercolor, oil painting, acrylic painting). Small groups enable individual guidance by the instructor.
