Courses
You have 10 sessions each week to build on your foundation skills class and you choose an elective class that appeals to your aspirations. You work through tutor-set tasks either alone or in groups of equally driven classmates to hone your writing, reading, speaking, and listening abilities.
This course has four levels:
- EAP Intro
- EAP 1
- EAP 2
- EAP 3
Each level has two sessions of lessons every day:
- EAP Intro: Academic English (session 1) + IELTS or university study skills (session 2)
- EAP1: Academic English (session 1) + IELTS or university preparation skills (session 2)
- EAP 2: Academic English (session 1) + IELTS or university preparation skills (session 2)
- EAP3: Academic English (session 1) + IELTS or university preparation skills (session 2)
To improve your IELTS band scores, you can elect to take academic English (session 1) + IELTS (session 2) then take an IELTS test at the end of the course at ELA's official IELTS Test Centre. To improve your English for future tertiary studies, you could take Academic English (session 1) + university preparation skills (session 2) For this, you take the ELA placement test on the first day of class. You also need to submit a writing task and talk face to face with a tutor to place you in the appropriate class.
