Meet our Spring 2020 SAF Scholar Correspondents!
When it comes to study abroad stories and advice, who better to hear from than our students who are currently abroad, living out the experience in real time? That’s why we’re excited to have 10 SAF Scholar Correspondents sharing their writing, photography, and video with us this Spring 2020.
I am majoring in ceramics art in Korea, and I am interested in various fields such as art, music, and literature. Based on my major, I bought a camera last year because I have many things to take pictures. Since then, taking photography has become my hobby. When I go on a trip, I like to leave various pictures. In addition, I wanted to cover computer programs such as video and photo editing. Recently, based on these abilities, I have been active on various social networks, including Instagram and blogs. My hobby helps me to expanding my relationships with many people.
I major in new media and Internet, which requires me to know a lot about communication and media. In my daily life, I love filming interesting moments or taking photos for others. I have made some vlogs when I worked at the Guangdong TV station. So I am pretty confident for the task. I don't worry about my English skills, for I have passed IELTS recently.
I am a senior majoring in sociology in Fuzhou University. I participated in FZU Student Media Center as a photograph journalist in 2016. During the summer vacation of my sophomore year, I flew to Columbia in America for a SAF exchange program, during which I communicated with students and teachers from different cultural backgrounds.
I am dedicated and responsible when it comes to my work. I love to socialize with other people from different countries and get to know new cultures. I am the one who cherishes the value of friendship.
I realize the importance of comprehending the basic principles of economics and want to learn those principles in different contexts. Therefore, I believe the courses called ‘Statistical Methods for Economics’ and ‘Economic Applications’ at the University of Edinburgh can meet my learning desire in that certain area. Since I have already taken the course in Korean with examples addressed to social issues in Korea, I want to learn those issues in different countries with international students.
I am a 21-year-old girl from China. I am optimistic and love life. I like taking photos, watching movies and putting forward ideas. In addition, I am considerate and easygoing, so I have many good friends.
I attended three different high schools in seeking a better education. Through this time, I grew my skill of adaptability. I love traveling, as new environments make me feel fresh and energized.
I am a student at INHA University in Korea. While attending Inha University, I have experience in volunteering abroad to Mongolia. While doing volunteer work in Mongolia, I sometimes watch video clips that are taken and edited, and I want to go to see the natural scenery of Mongolia once again.
Creative, passionate, optimistic.
I would definitely say the 3 words above can represent me. I love to do something new, meet new people, and go somewhere new.
My name is Zichen Lin and I am currently a graduate student of national economics at Ocean University of China. I will engage in American University’s Washington Semester Program next year to improve my skills in journalism and new media. I would like to be a journalist after graduation because I'm an outgoing girl who likes writing and thinking. I hope that my profession can help me observe the world and find a way to show how beautiful it is.
A man who likes discovering and appreciating beauty in life. A man who records every little happiness in life.
