If you are looking for a rewarding experience that combines an excellent academic opportunity with community outreach, internships, fantastic extracurricular activities and long last friendships, Colorado State University may be just the place! The campus in Fort Collins sits at the base of the dramatic Rocky Mountain foothills. CSU utilizes its lush physical landscape to enrich its programs especially the College of Agricultural Sciences, where off campus facilities are utilized for a hands-on approach. 

Research is fundamental in CSU’s environmental science programs and has made them recognized as leaders in the field. The Atmospheric Science Department has been the fore front of hurricane prediction since the early 1950’s.  Colorado Avian Disease Surveillance Program has developed avian flu sample collection kits available for the first time to professionals such as veterinarians and animal control officers to collect samples from birds to test for the deadly strain. The CSU Forest Service Fire Ecology is the study of wildland fires their relationships to living and non-living things in our environment.

The city of Fort Collins is known for its relaxed attitude and open green spaces, but also for its big city opportunities. Students will find much to do in this lively city including attending performances and concerts at the Lincoln Center and eating oysters at Jay’s Bistro. Biking is a popular way to get around; many streets have dedicated bike lanes and three bike trails make it easy for students to navigate the campus and city.

Housing

CSU offers a wide array of housing options. All residence halls are co-ed and feature lounges, recreation/game areas, study areas, TV and music room, laundry room, vending machines and are wired for Internet access. CSU offers nine dining halls with a wide assortment of food choices. The SAF program fee does not include the cost of the mandatory meal plan.

Courses

CSU is known for its academic strength in the sciences especially physical, engineering and environmental sciences, chemistry and forestry. The College of Business is AASCB accredited and has an excellent reputation for its programs in accounting, computer information systems, finance & Real Estate, Management and Marketing.
