Located on the River Clyde, art and culture dominate this lively Scottish city. From the West end where the University is located to the City Centre, which houses Scotland’s best shopping, the financial district and ‘old Glasgow’ you will find it very easy to navigate this city. Glasgow’s shopping district forms the UK's largest and most economically important commerce and retail sector after London's West End. ‘Clockwork Orange’, the underground rapid transit system is efficient and affordable as are the buses. For those who prefer to travel by foot, the city centre is a mere twenty minute stroll, from the University Main Campus, through stunning architecture.
Glasgow boasts beautifully preserved Victorian buildings and lovely parks and gardens, but it has a young, fashionable feel. The nightlife in Glasgow is arguably the best in Scotland.
Although Glasgow will keep you busy, there is much to see and do in the surrounding area. Take a quick trip to near-by Loch Lomond for water activities and hiking. Edinburgh Castle is a must see not to mention the scenic train ride along the coast South of Glasgow where you will pass legendary Troon golf Course on your way to Ayr, birth place of Scottish national poet, Robert Burns.
