Although there is much to do in Edinburgh including the ‘must see’ Edinburgh Castle, the surrounding countryside is abundant with activities. Edinburgh is centrally located in Scotland; nearby beaches and coastal towns will delight the senses, including Aberlady Bay and Gullane. The vibrant city of Glasgow is only one hour away by train, which run hourly.
Housing
SFA students live in flats or in Pollock Hall. The flats are scattered around Edinburgh, while Pollock is located approximately twenty minutes from George Square, the center of campus. The flats are self-catering, but Pollock has a mandatory meal plan. The mandatory meal plan price is not included in SAF fees.
Courses
Edinburgh prides itself on its international reputation as a research center. You'll find particularly outstanding programs in sociology, languages, English, micro-electronics, and biotechnology. The university also is a major center for computer-related studies, and there is excellent computer support across all disciplines.
