English Language Programs

The SAF programs are designed to be a fully integrated experience whereby SAF participants enroll in regularly offered academic courses of their host university.  We recognize however that there are many talented students who would like to study abroad through the SAF but who lack sufficient English proficiency.  To accommodate such students the SAF offers on-campus "pre-semester" or "pre-sessional" intensive English language programs in cooperation with a number of our host universities and colleges:

If your preferred host university or college is not listed above, you may still elect to attend one of these programs and then transfer to your first choice university or college once their English proficiency requirements have been met.

Conditional Admission

Conditional Admission is a type of admission granted by a university and college when a student must complete certain requirements prior to beginning full time at the institution.  Students needing to complete English language requirements before joining their SAF host university or college will receive a conditional letter of admission that clearly outlines the language qualifications they must achieve before enrolling in the regularly offered academic courses of the university.
