◆インターンシップ分野リスト◆
ワシントン・セメスター・プログラムでは、学生は下記の13の分野からアカデミックセミナーを選ぶことになります。下記のインターンシップ分野リストは、学期ごとに変更が生じる場合があります。これまでの学習履歴、成績、英語力などを基準に、受講制限を設けている学部／学科もあります。
American Politics アメリカ政治
ワシントンDCはアメリカ政治の中心であり、学生は全米において政治がどのように機能し、どのように捉えられているかを勉強する。ディスカッションの議題には、力の均衡、選挙、政策、法律制定などがある。
Contemporary Islam 現代イスラム社会
このセミナーでは、現代アメリカ合衆国におけるイスラム社会の文化的・宗教的重要性、市民権、外交政策などについて深く研究する。ゲストスピーカーによる講演やセミナーにおいては、イスラム社会の歴史・政治・宗教的活動・精神性からジェンダー問題まで幅広く理解を深める。さらにこのプログラムでは、この分野の第一線で活躍している人物とのイスラム社会における公共政策の発展について討論する機会が設けられている。
Economic Policy 経済政策
このセミナーでは教科書で学んだ経済学の理論を現実の社会に当てはめて研究する。学生は世界銀行や国際通貨基金、連邦準備制度理事会などに影響力のある経済界の要人と会う機会がある。
Foreign Policy 外交政策
外交機関、国際的な政策を決定する過程を検討し、国家の安全、軍事力、中東紛争、国際経済政策、国際開発などについて徹底的に掘り下げて考えていく。これらのディスカッションはロビイストや意思決定者、政府の役人、世論、外交官、メディア、学者などと直接交流することによりさらに中身の濃いものとなる。
★International Business and Trade 国際ビジネス・貿易
ワシントンDCには非常に多くの多国籍企業がオフィスを構え、200を超える外資系企業がこの地を本拠地としている。AOL-Time WarnerやOracleなどの本社もあり、ＩＴ業界の中心としても知られている。セミナーでは輸出入、海外投資、政治リスク分析などについてディスカッションが行われ、また、中東、ラテンアメリカ、東ヨーロッパ、環太平洋圏などでのビジネスチャンスについても分析していく。
★International Environment and Development 国際環境・国際開発
このセミナーでは環境問題、政治、開発の因果関係について国際的な視点から理解することに重点が置かれており、開発と環境保全の間で揺れ動く発展途上国の現状を把握していく。秋学期はブラジル、春学期は南アフリカへの3週間の研修旅行がカリキュラムに含まれている。
★International Law and Organization 国際法・国際機関
教室では国際法や国際機関についてディスカッションを通して理解を深め、ニューヨークの国連本部、ブリュッセルのＥＵ本部、ストラスブールの国際刑事裁判所、ハーグの国際司法裁判所などを実際に訪れる。
Journalism ジャーナリズム
世界中のメディアが本拠地を持つワシントンDCという立地だからこそできる経験を通し、日々変化していく実際のジャーナリズムに触れる。注目されている重要人物にインタビューするなどの機会も得ることができる。
★Peace and Conflict Resolution 平和維持・紛争解決
このセミナーでは世界各地の社会的・政治的紛争から立ち直り、どのように異なる人種や文化、国の間で平和を築いていくかを学ぶ。更に北アイルランドやバルカン諸島などでの3週間の現地実習を通して実際に紛争と平和維持活動の現実を目にする機会がある。
Public Law 公法
アメリカの一般法の組織、制定、施行について理解する。このプログラムの重要な構成要素として、アメリカ合衆国が現在直面している問題や法制定の過程について学ぶ。
Transforming Communities 地域社会変革
どのように住みやすい街を作り上げて、どのように住民に力を与え、どのように住民は行動をすればよいのか。法的手段、政治・経済制度または社会システムを吟味検討しながら、国家や地域社会のイニシアチブをとる能力を身につける。
（注）★のついた専攻は、オプションで海外研修に参加することができます。海外派遣先や派遣の有無は学期ごとに変更される場合がありますが、出願前に確認できます。なお、海外研修費用はSAFプログラム費用に含まれていません。
