Tower BridgeLondon, England

London is one of the most cosmopolitan, vanguard cities in the world. Thousands of world cultures mingle with British tradition in this metropolis, creating an air of excitement and sophistication in all areas of the city. London is the cultural capital of the United Kingdom and offers endless attractions, art, theatre, music, and, of course, plenty of British politics and history.

London also is home to numerous universities. Like many large cities, the universities are scattered throughout different neighborhoods, each with its own atmosphere and attractions:

The University of Westminster is located in the center of London on the famous Strand.  Queen Mary College, University of London calls the up-and-coming East End home. Once best known for being the hunting ground of Jack the Ripper, today the East End is undergoing a revitalization and has developed a cutting edge, diverse culture.

Big BenMiddlesex University has campuses dotted throughout the city's northern suburbs.  Each campus is easily accessible by the “Tube”, London’s extensive subway system.  The University of the Arts London also has multiple campuses across the city and together the five colleges comprise Europe's largest university for art, design, fashion, communication and the performing arts.

Roehampton University is located just six miles southwest of London in a beautiful, park like setting.

Whenever possible, SAF will house students studying in London in university-owned residence halls.  Students who are not offered places in university accommodation will reside in SAF coordinated housing in central London.  Students may have to commute from their place of residence to the university but most commute times will not exceed 50 minutes.  The cost of commuting is not included in the SAF program fee.

This is just the barest of introductions to London as we can't possibly cover all there is to see and do in this huge city.  Visit some of these links below to learn more about all the London has to offer.
