University of Kent
For an international flavor, creative atmosphere, and park-like setting, consider the University of Kent. This modern university of nearly 12,000 students has a European focus and particularly strong ties to the European Union. Kent plays host to students from more than one hundred nations, so you'll get a truly international feel on campus and in your classes.
Kent Union run societies range from rugby, skydiving and canoeing to wine, ballroom dancing or religious and political societies. Students at Kent also get involved with the student newspaper KRED and UKC Radio, become a trained niteliner or undertake student tutoring in local schools. The facilities at Kent are first rate including the Sports Centre, Gulbenkian Theatre and extensive computing facilities.
Housing
Most students live in single rooms in one of the University’s four residential colleges. Each college acts as its own community, with dining halls, libraries, common rooms, game rooms, and shops. The SAF program fee covers the cost of housing while classes are in session, but not he cost of meals. Limited self-catered accommodation is available on-campus in student houses.
Courses
Kent boasts severalexceptionally strong departments, including European studies, anthropology, and social policy, as well as computer science. The more artistically inclined will find great opportunities in film, drama, and art history.
