The SAF offers our study abroad programs in cooperation with prestigious universities and colleges in the U.S. & Canada, U.K. & Ireland, and Australia & New Zealand.

Host Universities

There currently are 48 SAF Host Universities and Colleges all of which have made a commitment to support our students throughout their study abroad experience.  Most SAF host universities operate on a semester basis and allow students to begin their studies for either the Fall Semester (Semester 2 in Australia and New Zealand) or Spring Semester (Semester 1 in Australia and New Zealand).  We recommend, however, that students take advantage of our full year options to allow for a more thorough immersion into the life, cultural, and language of their host university and country.  Please refer to the SAF Program Calendars to learn more about start dates and the duration of each program:  Academic Calendar USA and Canada, Academic Calendar England, Scotland and Ireland, Academic Calendar Australia and New Zealand

English Language Programs (Bridge Programs)

The SAF understands that English will be a second language for most participants and therefore we offer “pre-semester” or “pre-sessional” English language programs that allow students to improve their language skills prior to enrolling in academic courses at their host university. We anticipate that most students will begin their English language studies from February to July with the expectation of beginning academic courses in July for Australia and New Zealand or in August/September for the US, Canada, England, Scotland, and Ireland. Students should refer to the ESL Calendar US and Canada to learn which SAF host universities in the US and Canada offer ESL programs and their relevant start dates.  This calendar also provides recommendations regarding the TOEFL/IELTS scores students should have achieved prior to starting of their English program to provide adequate preparation for their academic studies.  The ESL calendars for the England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand will be posted shortly.
